NEW YORK, July 7 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale jolted L'Esperance Rock, New Zealand at 21:33:50 GMT Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 21 km, was initially determined to be at 30.9 degrees south latitude and 177.2 degrees west longitude.
