Canadian Craig Anderson (L) teaches a local resident to make artwork on the West Island in Sanya, south China's Hainan Province, April 8, 2018. Anderson arrived in February at the West Island inhabited by around 4,000 people. Locals regarded Anderson as a scavenger when he first arrived, as he wandered around the beach almost every day, picking up driftwood, plastic bottles, shattered glasses, and rusty pieces of iron.
